The Shenzhen Virtual University Park (SVUP) comprises of resident members and online members. Resident members physically join the SVU, set up an office, create research institutes, provide training services, commercialize research results or establish hi-tech enterprises. Online members join the SVUP by the Internet for scientific, educational exchange and cooperation.
IQualification and Requirements
1) Applicants must be famous universities of domestic and oversea (preferably science and technology universities).
2) Applicants must be able to contribute to development in Shenzhen¡¯s economy and universities. Their leading subjects of research must be compatible with Shenzhen¡¯s economic development.
3) Applicants must join the SUV willingly and on their own initiative.
II Procedures for Application and Admission
1 The applicant university must submit the following documents:
1) The authorities of the applicant university must submit an official application with the Shenzhen Government to join the SVUP.
2) The applicant university describes its activities in commercializing research results in recent years.
3) The applicant university describes work that it has done in Shenzhen and its work plan in Shenzhen.
2 Negotiation for matters concerning admission
Applicant university: Leader of University
Shenzhen: Leader(s) from Steering Group Office of Shenzhen Hi-Tech Park
3 SVUP¡¯s Management and Service Center submits an evaluation report to the Shenzhen Government
4 After responsible municipal government issue an approval, the two parties shall sign an agreement on admission.
5 The admitted university must designate personnel and issue official document of appointment
1) Board Member. The Board is leadership organ of the SVUP. The Chairman of the Board is the Mayor of Shenzhen. Board members comprise of leaders of member universities and bureau chiefs of Shenzhen Government and representatives of venture capital firms.
2 Resident chief representatives. The chief representative must be an incumbent cadre of the admitted university. He or she must be familiar with the university¡¯s educational resources, directly appointed by the university, represent the university in handling business.
