A technologic innovation system have already been in its infancy in reliance upon the Universities entered in the Virtual University Park, features the government¡¯s supports and its Shenzhen-orientation as well as services to society and marketization operations. There are altogether 50 R&D agencies of various categories as Key Laboratories, R&DCenters, & Engineering Centers etc, including 9 National Key laboratories. The Nation¡¯s first public network platform for techniques is planning to constructed in Shenzhen Virtual University Park so as to provide the real-time individualized services to enterprises in terms of consultation, R&D, key-problem-tackling etc via integration of the resource advantages from the multiple R&D institutes
In August 2003, Shenzhen Virtual University Park was granted as: ¡°National University Park for Science and Technology¡± by China¡¯s Ministry of Science and Technologyand Ministry of Education. This National University Park is a High-tech Park Zone in dependence upon Shenzhen Virtual University Park which combines several tens of universities¡¯ Shenzhen-based research institutes as Shenzhen-based Research Institute of Tsinghua University, PKU-HKUST Shenzhen-Hongkong Industry-Education-Research Institution (SHIERI) and Shenzhen International Innovation Institute assisted by financial investment agencies and medium brokers etc in Shenzhen. The occupied lands for industrialization in the University Park for Science and Technology cover areas of 226.1 thousands sqm. with a total building area of 224.3 thousands sqm.
